Act 1

Typhon is back and a lot more difficult this time. This stage gave me the most difficulty when I first did the Masked Carnivale. Typhon spawns a bunch of Bombs around the arena as well as a Magitek Explosive. If the Magitek Explosive is hit by a Bomb or a Fireball from Typhon, it will detonate and instantly kill us. The Magitek Explosive will also detonate on its own after awhile, so we need to kill it before that happens. Its weakness is Water so it is important to use Water damage to kill it as quickly as possible.

The basic idea here is that we want to pull Bombs away from the Magitek Explosive and kill the Magitek Explosive. We want to bring bombs towards Typhon since the Bomb explosion will deal damage to Typhon as well, and Typhon has a ton of health. Each Bomb will deal about 10% of Typhon’s health, so it doesn’t take too many bombs to kill him. There are a few different configurations of Bomb and Magitek Explosive spawns so it can take some practice to get used to them. You can reference the video above to see what the different setups are. Whenever a set of Bombs spawns, quickly look to see if there are any near the Magitek Explosive and pull them away with Sticky Tongue. Once they’re out of the way, kill the Magitek Explosive but don’t be too close to it or Typhon’s Fireballs can detonate it! Typhon will use spells like Snort and Fungah to move the Bombs and you around, so it will take a few tries to really know how to handle each configuration.

Alternative Strat (requires Hydro Pull)

Hydro Pull makes the stage significantly easier as shown in the video above. Hydro Pull allows you to pull multiple Bombs onto Typhon at once, and then use Hydro Pull to kill the Magitek Explosive. If you are going to do it this way, make sure that you’re always closer to the Magitek Explosive than you are to Typhon so that the Magitek Explosive takes the full damage and not 50% reduced damage as a secondary target!
