Act 1
This stage is quite long and can be tricky. Our main target is Durinn, but he
spawns several waves of zombie enemies throughout the fight. The zombie enemies
are vulnerable to
Saintly Beam, but Durinn himself is not, so
you will need a different filler spell for dealing with him.
Durinn opens up with Doom Impending which applies a 10 second Incurable debuff
and a Doom debuff that is cleansed by being healed to full health. We handle
this by healing ourselves to full before the Doom Impending cast finishes. If
we are full HP before the the cast finishes, the Doom debuff gets cleansed
immediately. Next Durinn will cast March of the Draugar and spawn several Undead
Serfs which apply a Bind to us. These are killed really quickly with
Saintly Beam. Watch Durinn and interrupt his Cackle cast with
Flying Sardine.
Next Durinn will cast Necrobane followed by Mega death, which should look
familiar if you’ve done The Weeping City of Mhach. To survive Mega Death we need
to be a zombie, which we do by standing in the Necrobane puddle. After Mega
Death, Durinn will cast Helblar Shriek, which is a small AOE hit, followed by
March of the Draugar again. Four Undead Soldiers will spawn and start casting
Fire III on us. Once again these can be killed quickly with
Saintly Beam. Durinn follows this up with Necrobane followed by
Funeral Pyre, and this time we do not want to be in the Necrobrane puddle.
After Funeral Pyre, Durinn will cast March of the Draugar again and spawn four
Undead Warriors that jump on top of us and stard hitting pretty hard. Once again
you can kill these quickly with
Saintly Beam. Durinn will then
cast Brainstorm which is similar to any other “forced march” type mechanic you
may have seen. He follows up with Bifrost Squall which covers most of the arena
with AOE circles except for one small part at the edge. Stand directly in the
center of the arena and aim yourself so that the Brainstorm debuff will make you
walk into the safe spot.
Durinn will again cast Helblar Shriek followed by the final March of the Draugar, this time spawning two Undead Gravekeepers. These enemies hit hard, so kill them as quickly as possible while watching your health. In the middle of this Durinn will cast Necrobane and Doom Impending, so just watch your health and avoid the Necrobanes.
From this point on the fight is just a loop of Mega Death, Bifrost Squall, Funeral Pyre, and Doom Impending. We’ve seen these all before, so we can just handle them the same way we did before.
