Solo Blue Mage
Basic Instinct is the key spell that makes solo dungeon runs
viable. While active, it doubles damage and healing dealt and removes the
damage penalty from
Mighty Guard, meaning you can be as durable
as a normal tank while hitting twice as hard.

#123Mimicry
Use
Aetheric Mimicry on a tank. As enemies hit harder at higher
levels, the defensive boost from Tank Mimicry becomes significant. It also
augments
Devour, improving your survivability further.
Rehydration gives you an MP-efficient way to top yourself off
without needing Healer Mimicry. That being said, Healer Mimicry is also
perfectly viable and some people prefer it. You will get hit harder, but
Pom Cure becomes extremely efficient for healing yourself.
Gameplay
Keep
Basic Instinct and
Mighty Guard active at all
times, and keep
Devour up when possible.
Dragon Force and the Poop Scoop combo
(
Peat Pelt into
Deep Clean) are strong survivability
tools worth using on larger pulls.
- Trash: Use
The Ram's Voice into
Ultravibration
(the Vibe Check) whenever it is up. When it is on cooldown, use
Breath of Magic,
Apokalypsis,
Phantom Flurry, and other big AoE spells to clear packs. - Bosses: Use
Doom to kill the boss instantly if it is
vulnerable to death spells (see the
Death Vulnerability Table. Otherwise,
use
Goblin Punch as your main GCD filler; with
Mighty Guard and
Basic Instinct active, it hits
for an effective 640 potency per cast. Keep
Breath of Magic
rolling, use Primal spells on cooldown, and use
Chelonian Gate
to mitigate tank busters. Some tank busters, especially in Shadowbringers
content, hit extremely hard.
Why Doom Instead of Missile?
Missile is strong in group content but loses value when soloing.
Bringing a boss to kill range with Missile alone requires many casts, while
Doom only needs to connect once. Doom also skips HP-triggered
phase transitions entirely, which Missile cannot do.
Flex Spots
The last two slots in the loadout are situational. Some options:
White Wind: Faster healing if you can manage the MP cost
Mortal Flame: Extra damage on bosses
Moon Flute: A significant damage boost on your main spells
Sea Shanty: No damage falloff on multiple targets, making it
very strong for trash packs
Dimensional Shift: Useful for weakening enemies when Vibe Check
is unavailable, though its slow cast time and HP-scaling damage limit how
often you want to use it
